Sydney CBD workshop | Friday 31 August | 12noon-4.30pm
Job seekers are so well researched these days and often will have rehearsed answers to the interview questions you ask. They can appear surprisingly confident and articulate with logical and plausible answers which may or may not relate to their practical capability and motivation.
Using a psychomteric test in the process helps you build a broader and deeper understanding of the candidate and enables you to probe more specifially on key areas in further interviews and reference checks.
Tradtionally it has been the Big 5 personality tests that have been used in selection processes but Doug Strycharczyk, Managing Director of AQR, describes why the MTQ-Plus is now also a valid and reliable measure for recruitment.
“At the point of recruitment (and selection for new roles), the prospective employer often knows little about applicants and much of purpose of the recruitment process is normally designed to select individuals who are good fits to the role and the organisation in terms of their behaviour. Undoubtedly useful, there is value in objective and verifiable sources of this information but it also has its limitations. It’s equally important to understand something of an individual’s attitude and mindset.” View Doug’s full article on The Big 5 Personality Model and the 4Cs Mental Toughness Concept
At Mental Toughness Partners, we use and promote the MTQ range of assessments to assist individuals and organisations for a broad range of uses such as leadership development, learning development, career transition, change and transformation and increasingly in recruitment and selection.
Moreover we can profile job specifications to desirable attributes highlighted by MTQ-Plus results.
In our upcoming workshop we will show you how to generate different interview conversations by engaging alternative screening methods to draw better conclusions about a candidate’s capability, motivation and cultural fit.
Job profiling and recruitment is much more than mapping responsibilities, relevant experience, qualifications, competencies and reporting lines. In this half day workshop we explore techniques, strategies and processes to identify the ideal attributes required for the role.
