I am an experienced and trusted Business Adviser to the recruitment industry, working with Boards, CEO and Business Owners on the “what next” with their business and how best to manage the challenges and maximise the opportunities.
Typically recruitment businesses grow from several years of successful sales revenues generated by a sole business owner or several partners who are also usually able to attract a team of consultants to assist in the continued growth. These businesses are predominately sales focused until some point, usually around 6-10 employees, when other factors such as leadership, people, positioning, processes, business model and funding become more important. Their approach has to change and become more structured to maintain their profitable growth. This may sound like your business.
Sometimes, business is not going well which can cause financial and personal issues. You need to find practical solutions quickly. Or you may just need someone you can trust to keep you accountable to your own goals and targets.
In any of these scenarios it helps to work with an objective outsider who understands the why, the how and what decisions have to be made. It helps to talk and work through these issues with someone who has experienced the same issues and can provide guidance, direction and accountability.
I am that objective adviser. In my senior leadership roles with Ambition and Michael Page International Asia Pacific, I acted both as the Regional or Group MD and as the start-up guy working on building new business lines and locations through the incubation period to becoming a profitable division or country. I experienced plenty of setbacks as well as successes as an entrepreneur, business owner and ASX listed company director.
As your Adviser I am someone to talk with about you and your recruitment company, about your current reality and desired future state, the opportunities and challenges you face and how to work through them to get to where you want you and your business to go. We will generally start with the end in mind and work backwards building a strategic plan that I will then keep you accountable to achieving.
